About the Site

This blog has been many things over the years. It started as the ramblings of a computer science student who needed to whine to the darkness of the internet. It migrated to a more ‘adventures of being an adult in the real world’/knitting-craft blog of a twenty-something trying to figure out life. Then it got quiet for a while and I wasn’t sure what to do with it. Well I figured it was time for a revamp and redirection. Now I want to put it more towards a ‘cool shit I do’ kinda blog. Still somewhat personal. Maybe a bit technical. Likely to be some whining and or snark. Definitely a lot crafty. We’ll see how it goes.

About Me

I’m crafty. I have about a bazillion projects on the go from knitting to crochet to spinning to sewing to millinery. I really need to stop finding hobbies. If you’re a knitter/crocheter you can find me on Ravelry as aahhh. If you’re not a knitter/crocheter, why aren’t you?

I’m a photographer. Not a professional (yet) but maybe someday. Right now I’m just starting to get “serious” with it and by serious I mean, I put up a website and gave my brand a name. I slowly making movements towards seeing if I can make some kind of business out of it, but right now I’m happy taking pictures.

I’m a techie. I have a CompSci degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I work as a Senior Software Test Lead for an online travel company you might have heard of, which was also my first job out of Uni. They pay me to break things. It pretty much doesn’t get cooler than that. Plus travel is awesome.

I’m a US expat kicking it in London, UK. I’ve been in the UK since 2008 and am finding it greatly enjoyable though I have technically lived in the UK before as a perk of being a military brat. London is one of those places that adopts you if you let it and it did me from that first cab ride from Heathrow.

I travel a lot. Sometimes for work, though for that usually not anywhere terribly exciting (to me). Mostly I travel for fun though. I’ve got 3 continents still left to hit (Australia, Antartica, South America) and a mile long list of places I still haven’t gotten to yet. The world is my book and I’m only through Chapter 1.
